The New Hampshire House of Representatives spent our first day as a body sitting in hundreds of cars in the “A Lot” at UNH. A logistical nightmare (great shout out to all those that made today happen!), our Republican leadership team did a great job of organizing, despite numerous challenges and a democrat leadership absent from any planning and members who’s only contribution to the event was endless complaining about everything under the sun, with their trademark hypocrisy on full display. The following is from our Republican Majority Leader Jason Osborne:

Durham, NH- House Majority Leader Jason Osborne (R-Auburn) released the following statement today in response to a full day of political games by House Democrats:

“Coming into today’s session, House Democrats put more energy into manufacturing outrage and refusing to work with us than help put together a rule-compliant session. However they still showed up with their frivolous and circus-like political games. They claimed our session was unsafe and put them at risk, yet the Democrats offered numerous floor amendments to House Rules, keeping us here much longer than we needed to be.”

“The rule amendments offered today were unnecessary, premature, vague, and solved no problems. They sought to tie the hands of committee chairman in the course of running their own committees, dictate the number of members they receive on a committee, and force trainings on members when a vast majority of our caucus completed it in the last week. I guess it holds true that Democrats have never seen a mandate they don’t love. Republicans came into the day with solutions. We saw no solutions from Democrats today, just more obstruction and more of the same.“

“House Republicans are undeterred by these political games and I look forward to working with my colleagues to pass expanded school choice policies, lower business taxes, and advance personal liberty.”

I expect the democrat’s nonsense to continue for the foreseeable future. A great example? I recently received private emails from a former Barrington Rep a week or so ago stating I was a “traitor” and he was demanding I resign over some petition I had allegedly signed on to. Not having any idea what this intellectually lazy, and radical left individual was even talking about, I let it go. I received a second email repeating the first, and later learned he was posting this info in several public venues. At that point, I privately emailed the guy and explained he needed to cease his defamatory nonsense or he would find himself on the wrong side of a civil action. He later retracted his accusations and posted a half-baked excuse as to his “source” for his information being “no longer available”. “Shoot, aim, ready”.

Today, at our House session, another democrat attempted action on this same petition, the one I was never involved with but accused of signing. Wasted time, radical left wild accusations.

Of important note today, we elected our new Speaker of the House as the first order of business. Congrats to Sherm Packard! Late in the day, a joint resolution was introduced by the Republican Majority Leader and the democrat Minority Leader condemning any violence in DC. It passed the House unanimously.

The next few weeks will be busy as our Republican team works to get the people’s business up and running. We can expect the Democrats to throw up roadblocks repeatedly, but that will not be enough to overcome the Republican’s determination!
