NH House Majority Rejects Democratic Leader’s Comments
Concord, NH- NH House Majority Leader Jason Osborne (R-Auburn) and Rep. Judy Aron (R-Acworth) released the following statements in response to NH House Democratic Leader Renny Cushing (D-Hampton) referring to the majority as “the most radical group of rejectionists that have assembled in the House in our history.”
House Majority Leader Jason Osborne:
“I’d like to take a moment to remind the Democratic Leader of reality. We’ve only held one session day to vote on legislation and House Democrats spent their entire day voting ‘no.’ They reject expanding education choice to allow parents a say in where their children attend school. They reject any tax relief and want to leave our small businesses struggling. They reject basic decorum and respect for their fellow legislators. They also reject showing up and performing the job their constituents elected them to do, and instead file frivolous lawsuits that the courts reject.”
“What does the Majority reject? We reject higher taxes on our citizens, including a sales and income tax. We reject increased mandates and taxes on our businesses that are struggling through the pandemic. We reject forcing students to stay in a school where they are struggling. We reject infringing upon the basic liberties of NH citizens. If the 2020 election proved anything, it’s that the citizens of New Hampshire reject these policies as well.”
Rep. Judy Aron:
“If I am going to be labeled a rejectionist by the Democratic Leader, I’d like to be clear on what it is I reject. I reject their assumption that everyone is a racist. I reject their attacks on those who do not agree with them, their ‘cancel culture,’ and their pursuit of squelching free thought and free speech. I reject their desire to disarm us all. I reject their desire to continue to increase our taxes until New Hampshire is indistinguishable from Massachusetts or California. I reject their desire to dismantle law and order. I reject their desire to ignore the Constitution; their need to erase history. But most of all, I reject their policies of divisiveness that perpetuates hate for our neighbor.”
